Deux campagnes de sélection organisées par l’Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris ont conduit à la labellisation de 16 DHU, par un jury international, composé de personnalités du monde médical. UNITY est issu de la seconde vague de labellisation.

Bernard Van Beers is member of the national steering committee of the Infrastructure project in imaging research “France Life Imaging” (coordinator of the Node Paris Centre) affiliated to Eurobioimaging. He participates in the research steering committee of the French Society of Radiology and the imaging group steering committee of EORTC, as well as in the executive board of the university gastroenterology department (DHU) Unity. He participates in review committees and editorial boards of numerous scientific journals and is member of multiple scientific societies.
He has been member of the Belgian Royal Academy of Medicine. He has participated in the executive board of the ESMRMB, 2004-2009 and directed the scientific program committee of the Annual ESMRMB Scientific Meeting in 2009.
